Fragosiriani (Φραγκοσυριανή) is a Greek Rebetiko song written by Markos Vamvakaris. Also written as Fragosyriani and Frangosyriani, the lyrics in the original song describes a beautiful woman that Markos Vamvakaris saw on the Greek island of Syros during one of his concerts. Though he never met this woman, she inspired him to write this song when he returned to Athens, and it became one of the most celebrated Rebetiko songs. With or without the lyrics, 'Fragosiriani' not only speaks to Greek listeners, but also to all listeners around the world.
